Since 1986, the Meitzens have been working on the winery business. Taking courses at the University of Texas at Austin studing with local producers and many late nights studing. This venture started with intellectual curiosity and love to now a thriving business. The challenge has covered chemistry and chemical compounds and their interaction to farming - a wide spread of intellectual disciplines.

August and Linda Meitzen did not hire people to come in and set the business up for them. They learned from formal education and other people in the business both the good and how to avoid the bad. The result is a beautiful boutique winery producing a wonderful product.
