Ordering and Shipping Information

Direct Pricing and Shipping
Texas Wine Market at no time takes possession of your wine. Instead, by having your wine order shipped direct from winery, we have been able to cut out the costly middleman fees offering you the lowest price possible at real winery direct prices. The prices are not what many others claim as "direct prices" - the prices on our site are set by the wineries and are the same price you would receive if you were at the actual winery. This gives us the advantage of offering you prices which are cheaper than the retail outlets and many other online sellers.

Shipping Methods
Most wine orders are shipped from the winery via FedEx within 2 - 3 business days from the time of purchase. Because the wineries use a great deal of care when crafting and shipping their wines, delays may occur in some cases - such as in the event of extreme weather where the winery wishes to prevent the wine from sitting in the carrier's storage facility over a weekend. Once shipped, most orders shipping within Texas are delivered in 1 - 2 business days via ground shipping. Other states will be 2 - 5 business days for ground shipping.

If you order wine from multiple wineries, your order will come as separate packages from each of the wineries and may arrive on different days.

All packages containing wine must be delivered to, and signed for by, a verifiable adult who is 21 years of age or older. Regardless of any signature release the carrier may have on file for your address, a valid state or government ID verifying the recipient's age to be 21 years of age or older must be presented at the time of delivery in order for the product to be released by the carrier. Therefore, it is highly recommended that the order be shipped to an address where an adult will be present during normal carrier delivery hours.

If after 3 business days the status of your order indicates it as not having been shipped for some reason, please feel free to contact us for any additional information.

Special Delivery Dates
In the event you need to receive a shipment by a certain date, please contact us in advance so that we may confirm that your desired delivery date can be met.

Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are determined by the carrier and each winery. The charges include the carrier base rates, any carrier surcharges (fuel surcharge, residential delivery charges, etc), an adult signature fee (for wine products), and the cost of the packaging as set by the winery.

Wine is heavy and fragile. The average bottle weighs over 3 pounds and most cases are in the 36 - 40 pound range.

As with all carriers, shipment costs are primarily based on weight but with a large portion of the costs coming from the initial package, surcharges, and fees. Therefore, often the more you order the less the shipping (and packaging) cost per bottle.

As an example, the average single bottle order shipped to an Austin residence costs around $14 in shipping – that’s $14.00 a bottle. But, the average six bottle order might only cost $20 - that's only $3.33 a bottle!

The $14 shipping cost in the example above breaks down like so:

Packaging cost (winery):~ $4.00 (average for a 1-3 bottle carton)
Adult Signature Fee (carrier):~ $3.00
Residential Delivery (carrier):~ $2.10
4lb Shipping Charge (carrier):~ $4.90

The $20 shipping cost in the example above breaks down like so:

Packaging cost (winery):~ $6.00 (average for a 4-6 bottle carton)
Adult Signature Fee (carrier):~ $3.00
Residential Delivery (carrier):~ $2.10
20lb Shipping Charge (carrier):~ $8.90

All the above rates are just examples of average orders. Depending on where the winery is located in relation to where you are shipping, these rates could be higher or lower.

Payment Options
Texas Wine Market accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Amex for all purchases. Other payment options may be made in advance for large and/or custom order.

Credit Card Charges
Depending on each winery's merchant configuration, the charges on your credit card statement may appear as either from the winery(s) and/or SellMoreWine, LLC, Texas Wine Market's parent company. If you order wine from multiple wineries, multiple charges may appear. However, the total of any/all multiple charges will equal the total shown on your order confirmation.

Most charges are pre-authorized immediately upon submission of an order and are not actually charged until the package has been picked up by the carrier.

Lost or Damaged Orders
If your package is lost or damaged during shipping, please contact us immediately.
